How To... Self Evaluation.

Categorise your research using the terms primary, secondary, quantitative and qualitative.

What methods of research did you find useful and why?
I found all the research beneficial, especially the factual pieces. I also liked receiving the feedback from the primary forms as it was satisfying getting the information that you'd asked for or sought out.

How did these inform your response to your problem?
When we got our feedback from the questionnaire I feel that it pushed on our project the most as it backed up our idea that what we were creating would be good for our target audience.

What methods did you encounter as problematic?
Something that was problematic was finding out how long chillies take to grow, as a lot of the information we found on the internet was quite contrasting.

How did you overcome this?
To overcome this I sent emails to different people who had a lot of knowledge in the area. I was really happy when I got two responses.

What research could you have carried out that would have proved more useful?
If I could have done further research it would have been looking further into different ways of growing chillies.

How To... Interim Crit.

Today we had a talk with Amber and Jo about the progress of our project and now it has changed direction quite a bit. It was said that maybe even with the money saving prospect it could still be hard to convince students to want to grow their own vegetables, so this is a point we will need to rethink. It was suggested that we could add some sex appeal or something similar that will attract the younger market more. Chillies were also brought up and I think this is a great idea and after thinking about it further we found lots of avenues it could go down. For example, chilli recipes, drinks and drinking games.

Proverbally Yours Message and Delivery Feedback.

Here are my feedback sheets from this project...

I am happy with the feedback that I've received it is all positive with some ides for further development. Both feedbacks say that my choice of format was good and that it is accessible for the target audience. One area that has been said could be improved is the outer envelope and that although the texture of the exterior is good the rest could have been more advanced. I think I will revisit this to see if I can make some improvements.

Proverbally Yours Feedback.

Here is the feedback that I recieved from the anonymous crit...

It was really interesting reading through other peoples feedback and it was good to see how they interpret my work. I was pleased when both sheets came back that they had read the proverb being portrayed and they confirmed that it was communicated in a clear way. There was contrasting opinion on my choice of colour, one believed it could have been experimented further as the pink seemed quite feminine. In contrast to this the other piece said that they thought it was appropriate as the red is a symbol for love etc which contrasts well with the white which also has connections with innocence. I am happy that both believed my posters worked as a set and liked the use of colour to show separation and unity. It was said that with the use of pictograms and simplicity led to my posters being high impact and memorable I am really happy about this as it was one of my aims for the set. Finally some points suggested for further development were to look into people and their addictions and long distance relationships.
